Cover Art For Song

Colorful cover art for “I Used to Dance Between the Raindrops,” showing a man in a suit dancing in heavy rain beside a lamppost, surrounded by bold neon lettering and dripping multicolored raindrops on a black, graffiti-style backdrop.

This was created as cover art for a lo-fi hip hop inspired song using R. U. Sirius’s wistfully nostalgic lyrics reminiscing on his youth. We leaned into the nostalgia vibe for the art with the dancing figure drawn from a classic Singin’ in the Rain still which became a symbol of carefree youth.

I layered it with neon, graffiti-like rain and bold psychedelic lettering, pulling from 90s urban visual culture. The song reflects on youth with a mix of longing and humor, so I placed the entire scene inside a thought bubble. It’s less about literal rain and more about remembering when you hought you could move through the storm untouched.
