Gold Country Concerts needed more than a brochure site. They needed a centralized platform to publish events, manage ticket sales, and give their audience a cohesive brand experience and all without expensive SaaS subscriptions.

I designed and built a dark-mode WordPress site focused on clarity, atmosphere, and seamless ticket purchasing.

The Challenge

There was no previous website. The goal was to:

• Create a branded home for a growing live events business
• Sell tickets directly through the site
• Avoid costly monthly ticketing platforms
• Keep the design minimal and performance-focused

A key technical hurdle was finding a free solution that integrated events and a calendar with WooCommerce for ticket sales. After testing options, I implemented Event Booking Manager for WooCommerce, allowing event publishing, ticket management, and checkout to function as a unified system.

Design Approach

The visual direction leaned into atmosphere.

• Dark mode to echo the live concert experience
• White and gold branding carried throughout for consistency
• Slab serif logo font used for H1 headings to maintain brand authority
• Complementary script font for lower headings to introduce warmth and personality

The hero video required the most production time. I created a montage of live show footage, framed with the textured crow logo at both ends, then layered gold tinting, film grain, dust, and scratches Using Adobe Premier Pro to create a cinematic, nostalgic concert aesthetic.

The result feels immersive without being cluttered.

Technical Implementation

Built with WordPress and WooCommerce, the site integrates event publishing and ticket sales into a unified system using Event Booking Manager for WooCommerce.

Performance is optimized through server-level caching and image compression, keeping the experience fast despite video content and dynamic event pages.

SEO best practices, structured metadata, and clean semantic markup support discoverability, while layered security measures and regular backups ensure long term stability.
